Determination. This is one of the main features of Leonardo Cordeiro. The pilot who was born in Sao Jose dos Campos, in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 8 November 1989, find out his love for racing at 12 years, through the kart. The desire to stay close to the teams and the major kart tracks in the country, took the boy from the Vale do Paraíba to live alone in Sao Paulo with just 15 years old. The initiative was rewarded. Two titles of Copa Sorriso, two Vice-Champion in Brazil and Sao Paulo League. Among the achievements, in 2008 season, the pilot won the title of Kart Petrobras, competition which offers the winner a prize of R$ 100 thousands.
Also competing in the Kart, Leonardo had the oportunity realize tests in Formula Renault Argentina and Formula Sao Paulo, but entered to the South American F-3 in 2007 in an unexpected way: with his own team. Like any new team that faces established structures, the results were not the ones expected. Leonardo decided to make the last race of the year by Cesario Formula, and took the checkered flag in second. The contract with the most successful team of the competition has become inevitable, and then the youngest driver in the class, at 18 years old, concludes the 2008 season in fourth place with a victory and the title of fastest in the league, with five fastest laps.
With the arrival of the 2009 Dallara chassis, the one used in major championships of F-3 in the world, Leonardo decided to stay in Brazil and make his second full season for the Cesario Formula. Becoming champion with two races in advance.
When he is not on the slopes or taking care of physical preparation, he is prospecting sponsorships and partnerships in order to check the continuity of his career, a constant challenges, as this is automobilist.
